Americans are growing apart. In this day in age, it is common to live independently and seldom engage in community gatherings. As an effect, the traditional model of community is breaking down. Numerous studies prove this by considering the declining rates of membership associations.
Historically, associations were a strong indicator of community health. Associations were available to people who wanted to come together, share interests, and further their hobbies or professions. Associations grew out of this desire, and for a small fee, people joined purposeful organizations that prided themselves on educating, entertaining and empowering their members.
With the advent of the Internet, many associations attempted to gather online, as well as in person. Other associations were developed exclusively for the Internet. As technology evolved and the social media age dawned, membership associations were replaced with forums, groups, and fan pages. They claimed to provide the same community experience associations did, but without requiring membership dues.
In reality, these groups never stood a chance at becoming strong pillars of community because they could not hold people to the same level of commitment as associations did. Charging membership dues was, and is today, the best way for associations to assure commitment and offer high quality resources to members.
Unfortunately, because of the need to charge dues, membership associations are now in trouble. Many are not turning the profit they need to keep up the quality of services they require. Membership associations need money to support programs, distribute information, create courses and conferences, engage in partnerships with other benefactors, and compensate leadership.
The best way for associations to make money is to use a social learning management system (LMS). A platform that offers a high quality, user-friendly interface allows members to interact with fellow members, receive effective training, embrace the association with full commitment, and pay their dues in a secure setting.
Here is a list of eight ways an LMS can save associations by increasing online community involvement and revenue.
1. Host exceptional, accessible training programs and conferences
2. Charge for online training
3. Market programs and services to reach a broader audience
4. Offer product and service promotions
5. Advertise special courses
6. Offer free sample workshops
7. Maintain a positive member experience
8. Provide users with personalized accounts
A membership association that uses a social LMS can offer members numerous high quality resources. TOPYX® serves organizations by providing easy-to-implement, user-friendly LMSs that appeal to association leaders and members. With social profiles, collaborative learning features, mobile access and reporting tools, it is possible to have a lively community platform that also monitors the success and income of the association. Associations that require membership dues may benefit from exploring TOPYX. Request a free demo today.
In a world where the definition of community is changing, membership associations can be saved. A social LMS makes it possible for this type of organization to provide materials and collect dues. With the right tools, associations can thrive again.

One of the most powerful tools in becoming an effective educator is to learn how the minds of students work. At the very least, trainers want to know how learners are observing, absorbing and interpreting information from a particular lesson.
For years, tests have been a measurable way to monitor student success. More so, they serve as excellent gauges for teachers to use when evaluating their own teaching. While tests are valuable, advancements in technology are making it possible for trainers and administrators to better understand how information is perceived when it is taught through a learning management system (LMS).An LMS with Google Analytics
An LMS with Google Analytics is making the learning process better because it allows trainers to manage coursework according to the unique characteristics of a class or group. Google analytics offers the best data for monitoring user behavior. It can also point out problem areas and gauge how much time users spend on course work. When Google analytics is combined with the power of learning management system software, it becomes a tool that aids the creation of highly effective training material.
Because this process has potential that is beyond other teaching tools, often times, questions emerge as to how an LMS with Google analytics merges with the learning process. Below are some general answers to common questions. Why would a trainer use Google analytics?
Using Google analytics allows a trainer to improve the learning process for students. It makes it possible for him or her to create a personalized learning strategy. By taking into account unique learning styles, it is possible to present learning material and conduct tests in ways learners understand.Where does the data come from?
An LMS with Google analytics will likely provide customizable data functions. In addition, data will be contrived from testing. It may consider the time elapsed between each test question and the amount of right vs. wrong answers. Data may also consider the learner’s environment (where was he or she taking the test) and other personal learner demographics.
A learning management system can adapt to the learner like no other technology can. Therefore, by using Google analytics, a trainer is able to gather information and analyze how students are grasping the material. Depending on the data, this might encourage the educator to continue his or her teaching technique or adopt new approaches.
TOPYX® is a social learning management system that comes equipped with Google analytics reporting tools. Experience the state-of-the-art teaching tools that are available with such a system. Request a free demo of TOPYX.
Constantly assessing learning methods allows a trainer to identify highly effective training techniques. Don’t miss an opportunity to create exceptional training material that appeals to all learners. Learn more about how an LMS with Google analytics can advance these noble efforts.
