Día Latinoamericano de Lucha Contra el Cáncer Bucal

Hoy se celebra el Día Latinoamericano de Lucha contra el Cáncer Bucal, uno de los diez cánceres más frecuentes a nivel mundial. 

Este día se instituyó en memoria y reconocimiento a la labor del Profesor Julio Santana Garay, quien se destacó durante toda su vida profesional por enseñar, investigar y estimular la conciencia de profesionales de Latinoamérica y el mundo, en lo relativo a la prevención y diagnóstico precoz de las lesiones precancerosas y el cáncer bucal, se declaró al 5 de diciembre en honor a su nacimiento el Día Latinoamericano de Lucha Contra el Cáncer Bucal.

La importancia de los hábitos saludables

A continuación se listan algunos hábitos que es conveniente tener en cuenta a la hora de prevenir el cáncer de boca.

Pier Paolo Balladelli, representante de la OMS/OPS en Argentina, disertó en las IX Jornadas Internacionales de Salud Pública

El 3 de diciembre iniciaron las IX Jornadas de Salud Pública en la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas  de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba.
El decano Gustavo Irico expresó la satisfacción por este encuentro académico en el cual se presentaron 330 trabajos, conferencias  de destacados profesionales y representantes de instituciones de salud.
Esta mañana, Pier Paolo Balladelli, representante de la OMS/OPS en Argentina, disertó sobre los “Desafíos por la implementación del acceso y cobertura universal de la salud”. 
En la oportunidad, describió el contexto latinoamericano en relación a la salud y mencionó la necesidad de realizar un mapeo de los indicadores de salud en la región, para implementar acciones tendientes a disminuir las inequidades. Finalmente, señaló que Argentina, después de Cuba, es el país de la región que más inversión per cápita realiza en salud y presentó las estrategias que se han pensado para la región.

El Día del Médico, en América, fue decretado en el Congreso Médico reunido en Dallas, Texas en 1933, en homenaje al nacimiento del médico Juan Carlos Finlay un 3 de diciembre de 1833El doctor, de origen cubano. fue quien confirmó la teoría de “la propagación de la fiebre amarilla a través del mosquito” (el Aedes aegypti) en una presentación realizada en la Academia de Ciencias de la Habana el 14 de agosto de 1881.

En honor a la labor de todos los médicos que día a día ejercen con vocación y sensibilidad su trabajo, el CVSP Argentina desea acercarles un fraternal salud en su día.

Sida«En este Día Mundial de la Lucha contra el Sida, exhorto a los dirigentes de todo el mundo a unirse en pro de nuestra causa común. Ya hemos comenzado a dar un giro a la situación y nos hemos fijado un objetivo audaz. Acabemos con el Sida, todos juntos, antes de 2030.».Secretario General de la ONU Ban Ki-moon . Acabar con la epidemia del sida para el año 2030 es posible, pero sólo si logramos que todas las personas, en todos los lugares del mundo, tengan acceso a los servicios que precisan: prevención, tratamiento, atención y apoyo.
