Se abre la convocatoria al próximo curso virtual de auto-aprendizaje en español: "Liderazgo en Enfermería: Empoderamiento de los enfermeros en Latinoamérica”. Los formularios de postulación en línea se recibirán hasta el 7 de abril de 2015.

La OMS insta a fortalecer la detección y el tratamiento de la tuberculosis

Al conmemorar el Día Mundial de la Tuberculosis (24 de marzo), la OMS insta a los países a redoblar sus esfuerzos para detectar, tratar y curar a las personas con tuberculosis, para así poner fin a la epidemia de esta enfermedad antes de 2030. La estrategia de la OMS "Fin de la TB" plantea tres pilares de acción concretas: la atención y prevención integrada centrada en el paciente, la definición de políticas y sistemas que permitan la prevención y la atención de la enfermedad, y la investigación e innovaciones necesarias para poner fin a la epidemia de la tuberculosis.

El 21 de marzo de 2015 se celebra el 10º aniversario del Día Mundial del Síndrome de Down. El tema de 2015 es: «Mis oportunidades, mis opciones. Disfrutar de plena igualdad de derechos y el papel de las familias».

Con esta celebración, la Asamblea General quiere aumentar la conciencia pública sobre la cuestión y recordar la dignidad inherente, la valía y las valiosas contribuciones de las personas con discapacidad intelectual como promotores del bienestar y de la diversidad de sus comunidades. También quiere resaltar la importancia de su autonomía e independencia individual, en particular la libertad de tomar sus propias decisiones.

Calidad de la Atención (QOC) ha sido reconocido como un objetivo clave de rendimiento necesario para fortalecer los sistemas de salud en países de medianos y bajos (PIBM) los sistemas de salud. Sin embargo, existe una creciente evidencia de muy mala calidad de la atención ambulatoria en PIMB. El problema con QOC es que la calidad es difícil de definir y medir. Existen múltiples perspectivas sobre la definición de la calidad - la calidad desde la perspectiva del proveedor (eficacia), el pagador (eficiencia), y el paciente (capacidad de respuesta). Al menos seis elementos de la calidad han sido identificadas por el Instituto de Medicina de los Estados Unidos.

Curso Cómo abordar efectivamente las Enfermedades No Transmisibles en el Siglo XXI (2015)

Este curso está designado para proporcionar conocimientos y estrategias profundas y exhaustivas dirigiéndose a problemas de salud de enfermedades no transmisibles (ENT).

Son 12 semanas por el curso completo compuesto por 6 módulos: 3 semanas sobre salud pública basada en evidencia, 2 semanas en vigilancia de enfermedades no transmisibles, 2 semanas en torno al análisis político y toma de decisión, 3 semanas sobre mercadeo social en salud pública, 2 semanas en manejo integrado para las enfermedades no trasmisibles. El curso es de tipo de curso a distancia con tutores y con convocatoria abierta.
