Blackboard Collaborate™ Web Conferencing

Online collaboration and learning platform that integrates Elluminate and Wimba.

Profesors, students, moderators and participants can join Blackboard Collaborate™ virtual sessions in real time, in a collaboration, interactive and learning platform.

The sessions can be used as virtual classrooms, offices or meeting points with great possibilities and opportunities for students, wherever they are, also offering new ways of learning, allowing students to interact and to have an active role.

The synchronous collaboration tools included in Blackboard Collaborate™ Web Conferencing are Videoconferences, Interactive whiteboard, Public and private Chat, Web tour, Application sharing, Session recordings, and Teleconferences (by phone).

User Interface

The main sections in the Blackboard Collaborate™ interface are:

  1. Audio & Video panel
  2. Participants panel
  3. Chat panel
  4. Whiteboard / Content area

 

Blackboard Collaborate™ seamlessly integrates with the Moodle environment.  The sessions are created as an activity within the Moodle system.

The integration with Moodle enables:

  • Classroom creation by instructors and teaching assistants
  • Ability to display list and modify scheduled classrooms
  • Single sign-on launch of classroom from within Moodle
  • Scheduling and delivery of Blackboard Collaborate sessions
  • Single-click access to Blackboard Collaborate sessions
  • Ability to create, store, and view Blackboard Collaborate recordings
  • Ability to assign moderator and participant roles
  • Ability to assign sessions to groups within Moodle

There is a required payment for the service and it is necessary to configure the global settings in Moodle.
