In order to recognize the work of nurses and midwives around the world and advocate for increased investment in this workforce, and improvements in working conditions, education and professional development, this year has been designated the international year of nurses and midwives by the World Health Assembly. |

Call for Contributions: WHO's Public Consultation on Human Genome Editing
The World Health Organization has established an Expert Advisory Committee to make recommendations on appropriate governance mechanisms for human genome editing. As part of the process of developing a governance framework, the Committee calls for contributions to the draft governance framework. The deadline to provide comments in English is 7 February 2020.
