Program to Strengthen Cooperation for Health Development

The PROGRAM TO STRENGTHEN COOPERATION FOR HEALTH DEVELOPMENT (CCHD) was developed by the Fiocruz Center for Global Health (CRIS/FIOCRUZ), a Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) Collaborating Center for Global Health and South-South Cooperation, in coordination with the PAHO/WHO's Department of External Relations, Partnerships and Resources Mobilization (ERP).

Such initiative is part of the actions required for the implementation of the new strategy of Cooperation among Countries for Health Development (CCHD), and responds to the demands that emerged during the Regional stakeholders meeting on Cooperation for Health Development, carried out in Panama City, on March 2 and 3, 2015 by PAHO. 

The goal of the Program is to contribute to developing capacities of the Offices of International Relations in Health (ORIS) of the Ministries of Health in the Region, analyzing the current situation and facilitating the development of nationwide institutional strengthening strategies.

In that regard, the Program is conceived as a mechanism to facilitate dialogue and processes that affect health diplomacy and South-South cooperation for health development in the Americas.
